Hippy new Year

Hi Folks

Hope you had a fab time over the last few weeks. It's a new year so i've blown off the dust from my guitar and squirted some oil in my ears. I have some new song ideas' i'll be working on in the next wee while. I'm waiting to hear back but hopefully i'll be playing the open stage at this years Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. The diary is snapping at me looking for gigs so that'll keep me busy as well. Look at the gig guide for forthcoming gigs. Last year I played a few gigs in the Isle of Lewis so I'll be looking to be back up there playing this year. Skye was good for me as well, so the same there. I'm waiting to hear back from a record company who have expressed an interest in putting an album out. Wish me luck with that one, please.

Back soon.

Stuart.

Been a while

Hi Folks

It's August and this year has been but a blur so far. Weddings and festivals have been the order of things this far and will continue to be so for the next wee while. At the moment i'm in the proccess of putting gigs together and good news. A well known Scottish record label are interested in putting an album out next year. I have a number of new songs thus far unrecorded and can't wait to see how things will unfold next year. So, at the moment it's a time for planning and of course writing. I'm off to Braemar this weekend for the wedding of one of my closest friend's then off to the Isle of Lewis again for a break and to think, write, walk and to say hello to that solitary Rowan on the moor.

Keep an eye on the gig calendar for dates appearing.

Cheery.

The Sun Came Out

Hi folks

What a month. Was in the Isle of Lewis last week. Did a gig in a small arts centre in Ness. Well recieved and got a few plays on the radio. And the Sun came out all week. Beautiful. I'm trying to sort out the addition of a fiddle player for live work and gigs for the next wee while so stay tuned and keep an eye on the gig guide/diary. Any comments please get in touch. Ta. See you soon.

Where did January go?

Howdydoody folks. Can't believe we're fast reaching the end of January already. I've put a few new songs together in the last wee while and can't wait to get them recorded.  I'll be recording them stipped down and more acoustic than the last cd "Twilight Dreams in a Growing Up World".  "Twighlight Dreams..." itself will be available from April once my great friend, technological wizard, whip cracker and all round great single malt drinker Michael the spritely and myself get a package together. I'm also in the middle of getting gigs sorted for this year. Check the calendar for details. The big push has started. Thanks to my aunt Brenda I have a song "Question Mark Language" being played on rotation on internet radio. Check out www.radiosix.com. It will be on their playlist for 10 weeks or so. So a big thankyou to me aunty for that.

Back soon.

Stuart.

Progress?

Well, we're into October now. I've started recording the new cd. It's amazing how long these things take. Sometimes it's not until you start recording that you get the ideas for how it should sound and this time is no differant.  I hope the results are to everybodys liking. Last night I went to a meeting about a sort of acoustic battle of the bands called the Emergenza festival. So i'll be participating in that in the first week of November in Glasgow. Details to be finalised. Theres meant to be a charity cd coming out in aid of MacMillan Cancer Care in the not too distant future with one of my tracks on it. The song is Thankful For It All. It's already been delayed so we'll wait and see.

Anyway, i'm away to write the best song ever.

See ya.

Hi and welcome

Thanks for visiting my site. This is the first time i've done this and trying to get my head round how to work the site. Ill update you on who I am and what I do. Well, i'm a thirty something songwriter based in the Glasgow area of Scotland and after years of being in bands doing covers and the odd original thing I thought it high time that I made an effort to let folk hear my own stuff. So here I am. I have recorded two cd's and am starting to record the third soon. The feel of the new cd will be a slimmed down acoustic thing with bits of keys and strings here and there. I'm putting out the feelers for festival work for next year and of course when the new cd is ready i'll be sending it to every Tom , Dick and Harry who'll listen. Wish me luck.

If you like the sound of the samples on this site and would like to purchace a cd please contact me at my e-mail or give me a call.

Cheers

Bye for now.
